Born and raised in Johor, the southern region of Malay Peninsula.
Graduated from Loughborough University with BA (HONS) in Graphic Communication.
A multidisciplinary art director and illustrator based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With strong background in art and over 10 years of solid experience of working with advertising agencies in creative industry, Awie’s creativity extends from the aspect of advertising design to illustration and even to visual storytelling. His ability to create various styles of work have won him remarkable advertising awards such as Kancil Awards and recognitions in publication.
Obsessed with arts, Awie finds inspiration in both his hand-drawn and digital illustrations from his daily life, people’s relationship, films and books. His passion in visual storytelling keeps him constantly exploring the potential of storytelling through imagery. He has been endeavouring to pursue his dream to be a picture book maker by telling heartwarming stories with beautiful illustrations.
